Thanks to a recent article published by Rooflink, we can offer some clarification regarding the VELUX warranty status when custom flashing is used. In the past there has been a common misconception that VELUX warranty would not be valid when using custom flashings, but this is certainly not the case.

Metal Roof/EDW Flashing

 
This guide demonstrates the basics to installing VELUX skylights into a pitched metal roof with EDW flashing, while also providing some useful tips from an experienced installer.

VELUX EDW Flashing

NB:
- VELUX EDW flashing is suitable for tiled and corrugated iron roofs over 15 degrees (not suitable for metal profiles such as Klip-Lok, Trimdek, etc).
- A different installation method is required for installations on roofs less than 15 degrees.
